Today we have the honor of premiering an early exclusive full stream of ‘Invocation Codex‘ the debut full-length album from Spanish death metal quartet BIZARRE. Influenced by the Eldritch horror of classic Finnish death metal and meeting a modern yet ‘old school’ standard for brutal and melodic death metal balance, this band counts members of Onirophagous, Wormed, Aposento and Moribundo among their ranks. Expect tank-heavy riffs, roaring vocals, keyboards conjured from Celephaïs and plenty of strong melodic directives leading the way. Don’t miss the murmuring seas and golden cliffs of “Ex Oblivone” with its brilliant melodic hook and gut-socking blasts, the unechoing chaotic infinity of the plodding “Awaiting the Equinox”, and stick around for the grand finale of “Ancient Forgotten Tsathoggua” as these painterly Lovecraftian skies depicted crumble around us. Exhumed from the crypts of the forgotten Finnish death metal gods, the music of Bizarre is like an ancient dark force that has been summoned to be unleashed with magnified intensity upon the unsuspecting masses. Shrouded in layers of impenetrable darkness and reeking of otherworldly Lovecraftian horror and mystique, the music has an enchanting effect on the audience. Possessed-sounding vocals instill a sense of fear penetrating deep into the subconscious, as the guitars weave a dual-pronged attack comprising of body-maiming riffs and heart-stabbing melodies that sound like plaintive cries of souls trapped in bottomless limbo, all in all, orchestrating a diabolical onslaught invoking hell on earth. ‘Invocation Codex’ has been initiated to honour the true spirit of obscure death metal and wreak havoc in manners deemed necessary in such an era.
